Whether you’re a sole trader or company, in retail or manufacturing, if you want to reach more people, attract the right customers and increase your profits, a graphic designer is a worthwhile investment in your business’s growth and success.
How Exactly are Graphic Designers an Asset to Your Business Growth?
The human race are visual creatures. We engage better with visual stimulation. So when it comes to branding, marketing and advertising your business, you need to create visual messages that people can recognise, identify with, remember and react to in a clear, professional, meaningful way.
Graphic Designers are Visual Communicators.
The role of a Graphic Designer is to create visual solutions to communicate an idea, share information or sell a product or service. They achieve this through the creative use of words, photos, illustrations and graphics.
Their skills can include; building websites, crafting logos, establishing brands, designing marketing material, creating ads and managing a company’s overall online and offline presence.
There are thousands of designers out there for you to choose from. The most expensive doesn’t mean they’ll be ‘the best’. Just as the cheapest doesn’t mean they are going to be ‘the worst’.
What Type Of Graphic Designer Do I Need?
You’re looking for a graphic designer who specialises in business branding and marketing. They may be referred to as “Marketing Designers”, “Brand Designers”. These designers will specialise in creating your brand. They will be able to design powerful marketing to motivate your customers and improve the internal communication between management, staff and suppliers.
But do your research. Read reviews. Look at their past work and check out the clients they’ve worked with. Read their terms and conditions. Ask lots questions and see out if they understand your industry, your challenges, your audience and what you’re wanting to achieve.
Is Ladybird Design Print & Marketing right for you?
From our experience, the success of any branding and marketing project we undertake is based on how well we connect with our customers, and understand their problem.
We’re in the business of solving problems and the only way we can assist our clients effectively is to listen and learn. We learn about your business, your ideas, concerns and challenges in order to help you achieve your desired outcomes.
Research is key. Using focus groups, social media, books & the internet, we are able to research a client, a product, the competition or a target market.
We Use Industry Standard Software
We prefer to use the Adobe Creative Suite, a package of integrated industry-leading design & development tools used by commercial printers, signwriters, photographers, illustrators, web designers. This ensures the transferring or sharing of files with our suppliers is smooth and maintains the quality with which the project was created.
A Network of Professional Creatives
We have our own network of photographers, printers & sign-writers but we are constantly building and growing good working relationships with other graphic professionals, locally, nationally and aboard.
Happy to Share
Some of our clients may have their own preferred printer, sign-writer etc, we respect that and are only too happy to work alongside other Creatives.
We Understand the Technical Jargon – so you don’t have to
CYMK vs RGB, bleed marks, trim marks, layers, separations, embedded or outlined fonts? Confused much? We understand the technical specs that are expected. Your artwork will be suppled to the printer ‘print ready’ or in the correct format for your web developer.
We work with trade and commercial printers. These guys aren’t normally available to the general public so as an industry professional, we are able to access wholesale pricing on printing. We have three preferred printers – each having been selected for their area of expertise but all are chosen for their quality control, professionalism & reliability.
Constantly Learning And Growing
We are always looking at new trends, new technologies, learning new techniques, upgrading software and meeting new people. We look at what’s working (or not working) in the real world. It’s vital in our industry to always be up to date in various aspects of graphic design & marketing.
Our background is Small Business Management & Retail. Kristy has 30 years experience in sales & marketing, visual merchandising & management. Our partners and contractors are chosen for their wealth of knowledge and expertise. We look at your business from the point of view of a business owner as well as a Graphic Designer.
And We Love What We Do!
And last but not least, you need to feel comfortable with whomever you choose to work with. You should be able to confidently discuss your business goals and challenges with your designer.
So don’t rush in and book the first designer you find. They should be an asset to your business, not an expense.
